In addition to the covered services required by Ohio Department of Medicaid, AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio offers extra benefits to help you.

Complete a health risk assessment (HRA), earn $50

Earn money to spend on everyday items after taking a short quiz about your health. It’s that easy to earn a cash reward.

Wellness programs

CARE Card

Do things that help you stay healthy. Earn rewards on a reloadable gift card.  Learn more to begin earning rewards: CARE Card Rewards Program.

Care for members with diabetes

  • Home-delivered meals and nutrition counseling
  • Mobile smartphone with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) tools
  • Special vision program:
    • One additional comprehensive eye exam every year
    • One new pair of glasses every two years and needed adjustments to lenses every year

Living Beyond Pain

This chronic pain management program can help you improve your pain management with non-opioid alternatives. This includes 15 additional chiropractic and 30 acupuncture visits per year.

Mobile phone

AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio members may qualify for the Lifeline Wireless program for a no-cost smartphone, unlimited talk and texting, and 4.5 GB of data.* To learn more or apply, go to mybenefitphone.com. If you can’t apply online, call Member Services.

Mobile games

Play mobile games through Motivv that ask health trivia questions. By playing these ad-free, no-cost games, members can earn rewards on their CARE Card! Find complete information here: Mobile Games.

Food as Medicine

Qualifying members recently discharged from a hospital or enrolled in our diabetes program, and pregnant and post-delivery members and families can receive home-delivered meals at no cost.

Eye care

  • One exam and eyeglasses every 12 months (individuals ages 0 – 20 or age 60 and older)
  • One exam and eyeglasses every 24 months (individuals ages 21 – 59)
  • Additional eye care is available for members living with diabetes.

Dental care

Members 21 and older can get one additional cleaning and exam per calendar year. Some restrictions and limitations apply. This is in addition to the standard Medicaid benefit.

Transportation benefit

All members can get unlimited non-emergency trips for provider visits more than 30 miles from their home. Qualifying members can get up to 60 non-emergency one-way trips per year within 30 miles of their home, including unlimited additional trips for chemotherapy, radiation, dialysis, or prenatal and postpartum appointments and for medical services for members who use a wheelchair. Home health aide training

This program offers Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice’s Home Health Aide Training Program at no cost to interested members. It is a guided course to train and certify new home health aides. Completion of this program meets both Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and PASSPORT requirements for Home Health Aide Training and Education. Learn more about home health aide training

Pregnancy and postpartum care

Bright Start®

Members get access to our pregnancy care program to help schedule appointments and connect to community resources and additional programs.

Bright Start Beginnings Bundle

Provides essential items for a new baby, including items to support a safe sleep environment and postpartum support.

Housing stability flex funding

Access to a housing coordinator to identify local resources for safe and stable housing and up to $750 toward housing-related expenses in emergency situations for pregnant members.

School essentials

Up to $75 per child for school uniforms and school supplies. Contact your Care Manager for information on how to access these funds.

Memberships and services

Mission GED program

Mission GED is a special program that can help you reach your goal of achieving your high school equivalency (HSE) diploma. AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio will provide you with testing vouchers so you can take tests for an HSE diploma at no cost to you. We can even provide a program coach to help you every step of the way.

  • Expenses — when you enroll in the Mission GED program, you can take your tests at no cost to you. AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio will provide testing vouchers.
  • Coaching — once you enroll in GED classes, an AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio program coach will work with you. Your program coach will contact you periodically to offer support and encouragement on your journey.

To enroll in Mission GED, you must meet all of these requirements:

  • Be a current AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio member
  • Be 16 years or older (parental consent needed for members 16 and 17 years of age)
  • Not have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Not be currently enrolled in high school or college

WW* (formerly Weight Watchers) membership

All members ages 18 – 64 can get an online WW membership at no cost for six months.

It can be hard to focus on your health if you have problems with your housing or are worrying about having enough food to feed your family. AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio can connect you to resources in your community to help you manage issues beyond your medical care.

  • Worry about your living conditions.
  • Struggle to get enough food to feed yourself or your family.
  • Find it hard to get to appointments, work, or school.
  • Feel unsafe or experience violence. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
