How to Enroll

Medicaid is a joint federal and state program that helps people with limited incomes and resources receive needed healthcare coverage.

You are eligible for our plan as long as:

  • You are eligible and remain eligible for Ohio Medicaid;
  • And you live in Ohio (the AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio service area);
  • And you are a United States citizen or are lawfully present in the United States.

If you need help enrolling, call Member Services at 1-833-764-7700 (TTY 1-833-889-6446), 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Ohio Medicaid annual open enrollment

Ohio Medicaid’s annual open enrollment is happening now through November 30! Members are encouraged to review the managed care plans available and select the one that best fits your healthcare needs.

If you would like to keep your current managed care plan, you don’t have to do anything.

If you decide to switch, coverage by your newly selected plan begins the first day of the following month. For example, if you select a new plan in November and its coverage begins December 1.

Taking part in annual open enrollment allows you to focus on you and your family’s well-being. While reviewing plans, keep the following in mind:

  • Which plan works with all or most of your doctors?
  • Which plan works with the hospitals you want to use?
  • Which plan offers the extra services you need, such as additional unemployment assistance, access to nutritious foods, education, wellness programs, vision, or dental services?
  • Will you have to pay co-pays for dental services, routine eye exams, eyeglasses, mental health, substance use disorder benefits, or non-emergency services provided in a hospital emergency department?

Representatives can provide interpreters and answer questions about open enrollment and are available 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Eastern time.
