Transition (continuity) of care
AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio will help make sure that any Medicaid covered services you are getting when you become our member will continue with AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio.
If you are pregnant and have reached your second trimester, you may continue to receive ongoing treatment from your existing health care provider through delivery and 60 days after delivery. We will work with your health care provider, even if they are not in our network, to help make sure that you will continue to get these services when you are new to our plan.
We will help make sure that we pay for the covered services without the provider having to preauthorize the services again. The provider does need to let us know what you were approved for so that we can get it into our system. If you have any questions about services you had before you became our member, please call our Member Services team at 1-833-764-7700 (TTY 1-833-889-6446).
If a provider leaves our network, AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio will help make sure that any services that you are receiving will continue. In some situations you will be able to continue with that same provider for a while. In other situations we will help you find a new provider quickly so that services continue.
